Sierra Leone Ambassador To Türkiye Mohamed Hassan Kaisamba Addresses 40th Session Of The Governing Body Of The Research Center For Islamic History, Arts And Culture, Affirms Country’s Readiness To Collaborate With All Nations
Istanbul, Türkiye, Thursday 28 September 2023 - Sierra Leone Ambassador to Türkiye, Mohamed Hassan Kaisamba has addressed the 40th Session of the Governing Body of The Research Center For Islamic History, Arts and Culture, and has affirmed his country's readiness to collaborate with all member states.
The Research Centre For Islamic History, Art and Culture - IRCICA- is the first cultural center and a subsidiary organ of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation established in 1979. The Center is focused on various academic principles concerning the history of Muslim countries, arts and sciences in Islam, Islamic culture, and civilization.
Ambassador Kaisamba noted that Sierra Leone was elected member of the Governing Board of the IRCICA by the decision of the 44th Session of the Islamic Commission for Economic, Cultural and Social Affairs of the OIC, he therefore extended what he called heartfelt gratitude to the Turkish government and the Research Centre for their warm hospitality and the opportunity given to him to participate in such a significant event.
“As we convene on this auspicious occasion, we are reminded of the enduring importance of the Research Centre's mission, which focuses on various academic principles concerning the history of Muslim countries, arts and sciences in Islam, Islam Culture and Civilization. Islamic history, art, and culture have enriched humanity for centuries, transcending borders and bringing together diverse communities.
“The Republic of Sierra Leone recognizes and values the profound impact of Islamic civilization on our world, from architecture to literature, from scientific discoveries to the promotion of peace and tolerance”, he noted.
Ambassador Kaisamba urged member states to reaffirm their commitments to the principles of this Research Centre and redouble their efforts to ensure that the rich legacy of Islamic History, Art, and Culture continue to inspire generations to come, noting that, together, they could build a more inclusive and harmonious world where the beauty of diversity would be celebrated.
