SIERRA LEONE'S SPEAKER OF PARLIAMENT, DR ABASS BUNDU, REPRESENTS H. E. PRESIDENT JULIUS MAADA BIO AT THE INAUGURATION CEREMONY OF H.E RECEP TAYYIP ERDOĞAN PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF TÜRKIYE, 3rd JUNE 2023

The 14th of May 2023 dated the first-round elections of the Republic of Türkiye, which resulted in a surpassing grip of the incumbent, His Excellency President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, obtaining 49.5% of the total votes whilst his main opposition Kemal Kiliçdaroğlu secured 44.9%.

With none of the candidates obtaining the required 50% majority of the total votes in the first round, a run-off which is a historic and first-ever event, was held on the 28th of May 2023, whereby H. E. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan emerged with a defeating score of 52.14% stretching his rule into a third decade.

Dr. Abass Bundu attended the Inauguration Ceremony at the presidential complex with the participation of other high-level officials from 81 countries.

In his highlighted Presidential speech, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stated that Türkiye needs the energy and contribution of all its citizens. He further emphasized the importance of unity and fraternity among all citizens in Türkiye, as he pledged to embrace everyone regardless of their political ideologies or ethnic background and promised to introduce a more liberal construction which was part of his first speech made after the oath-taking ceremony at the Turkish Parliament.

Concluding, President Erdoğan restated his determined strives in ensuring a solid Geo-politic and economic ties with the world by expanding the sphere of influence of humanitarian diplomacy.
