Sierra Leone’s Ambassador To Türkiye Mohamed Hassan Kaisamba Joins The ADC In The African Ambassadors Summit. African

 

Culture House, Ankara, Türkiye, Wednesday 4 October, 2023, Sierra Leone Ambassador to Türkiye Mohamed Hassan Kaisamba has joined the Africa Diplomatic Corps -ADC, at the African Ambassadors Summit. The African Ambassadors Summit is an annual event that highlights the many gains Türkiye has achieved on the Continent.

 

The Turkish Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ahmet Yıldız, said that Africa continue to play more active role in the international system and assumes an increasingly important role on the global stage, adding that the economic and commercial potential and geopolitical weight of the rapidly developing Continent in many areas has attracted a vast number of countries and investors in recent years.

 

 African countries have shown their appreciation for Türkiye's attachment to the Continent by increasing the number of their Embassies in Ankara to 38, which used to be 10 at the beginning of 2008. Türkiye shares its own historical experience, social, political and cultural accumulation as well as its opportunities and resources with African countries under the principle of "African solutions for African problems" and on the basis of mutual benefit. Türkiye attaches importance to opening diplomatic missions in all African countries, in order to enhance its relations with the Continent.

  

While the number of Turkish Embassies in Africa was only 12 in 2002, it increased to 44 as of 2022.

 

The total trade volume with the African Continent has increased from 5.4 billion $ in 2003 to 34.5 billion $ in 2021. The volume of projects undertaken by Turkish contracting companies rapidly expanded and reached 77.8 billion $ in the African Continent. Türkiye has also established joint Business Councils with 45 African countries over the period. These signs of growth keeps bringing Türkiye and Africa closer. Africa and Türkiye will continue to collaborate in various ways to improve on their relationship for mutual benefits.
