Sierra Leone’s Ambassador To Türkiye Mohamed Hassan Kai-samba Addresses Best Diplomat Conference, and calls on young leaders to embrace democracy and denounce Violence.
Windsor Hotel and Convention Center, Istanbul, Türkiye, 19 August 2022 - Sierra Leone’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Türkiye, Mohamed Hassan Kai-Samba has addressed a high-level conference of Best Diplomats, comprising young leaders from some 77 Countries, stressing that, young people are an incredible mobilizing force for positive political change, and admonish them to embrace democracy and denounce violence in all its forms.
The Conference was organized by the Best Diplomat, a United Nations Simulation Organizer based in New York, and it serves as a platform for Young Leaders and Change makers who exchange ideas on resolving current global issues.
Acknowledging the incredible contribution of the Best Diplomats, Ambassador Kai-Samba acclaimed and thanked the organizers for their invaluable work in “ preparing, training, and positioning tomorrow’s diplomats, as this ensures that tomorrow’s challenges will be managed by a cadre of top-notch diplomats who are presently acquiring the skills and building the necessary relationships to tackle future concerns”.
He reminded the Delegates that, diplomacy hinges on maintaining peaceful relationships between nations, groups, or individuals, and admonish them to value relationships, peaceful co-existence and denounce all forms of violence. He further stressed that, “Diplomacy bridges all barriers, it is an instrument of good governance, and a vehicle for peace and justice. It is, therefore, imperative that youth are given the opportunity to engage with international institutions and initiatives thereby contributing ideas to resolve national and global issues”.
His Excellency Ambassador Kai-samba used the opportunity to condemn recent developments in Sierra Leone and warned against rogue elements of society misusing the economic status of young people and misrepresenting the consequences of recent global events, to fuel hatred and unrest in their countries. He called on Young people to be the engines of national development and ‘be the leaders’ that they are.
Earlier in the program, the Director-General of the Best Diplomat, Mr Fawad Ali Langah said he was happy to have coordinated young people from across the globe, saying that the conference was geared towards building the character and creating the best attitude and behavior of the beneficiaries; that would lead future change in the world.
