Sierra Leone Chief Minister, Dr. David Moinina Sengeh, Attended the 5th Antalya Diplomacy Forum in Antalya, Türkiye
The Government of the Republic of Sierra Leone was proudly represented at the 5th Antalya Diplomacy Forum (ADF 2026) held in Antalya, Türkiye, from 17–19 April 2026, under the theme: “Mapping Tomorrow, Managing Uncertainties.” The prestigious global gathering was hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye under the auspices of His Excellency President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
The Sierra Leone delegation was led by the Chief Minister, Dr. David Moinina Sengeh, whose participation underscored the Government’s commitment to active global engagement, strategic diplomacy, and international cooperation. His leadership at the Forum reflected Sierra Leone’s growing voice on the world stage and its determination to contribute meaningfully to global conversations on peace, governance, and sustainable development.
The Forum’s theme, “Mapping Tomorrow, Managing Uncertainties,” highlighted the urgent need for nations to anticipate future challenges, identify emerging opportunities, and craft innovative responses to an increasingly complex global environment. It called for resilience, foresight, and stronger multilateral cooperation in addressing geopolitical tensions, economic volatility, climate change, and security threats.
In his opening address, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan emphasized the importance of dialogue, collective wisdom, and diplomacy as the most effective tools for resolving conflicts and restoring trust in international relations. He described the Antalya Diplomacy Forum as a shared platform of conscience and hope, bringing together global leaders to shape a more peaceful and stable future.
On the margins of the Forum, Chief Minister Dr. David Sengeh served as a distinguished panelist at the ADF Leaders Panel on the topic: “Diplomacy Against All Odds: How to Find a Common Ground.” During the session, he highlighted Sierra Leone as a compelling case study of a nation that endured the devastation of war but successfully embraced reconciliation, unity, and democratic governance, demonstrating that even after conflict, societies can find common ground and build lasting harmony for their people.
The Chief Minister also held a productive bilateral meeting with the Chief Executive Officer of TUSAŞ, Mr. Mehmet Demiroğlu, where discussions focused on opportunities for collaboration, innovation, and exchange programmes of mutual benefit.
Additionally, Dr. Sengeh met with the Vice President of the Republic of Türkiye, where wide ranging discussions centered on deepening the already cordial bilateral relations between Sierra Leone and Türkiye, while exploring new avenues for trade, investment, and strategic partnership. The Turkish Vice President further expressed appreciation for the Sierra Leone Embassy’s Investment and Trade Seminar held in May 2025, describing the initiative as timely and instrumental in enhancing Sierra Leone–Türkiye trade and investment relations.
Sierra Leone’s participation at ADF 2026 reaffirmed the nation’s commitment to constructive diplomacy, peacebuilding, and fostering partnerships that advance national development and global solidarity.
