Sierra Leone Ambassador Conducts Site Visit to Doğanlar Agriculture Company Following Courtesy Call
Ankara, Türkiye, Monday 22 June 2026 – Sierra Leone’s Ambassador to Türkiye, H.E. Dr. Francess Virginia Anderson, has conducted a site visit to Doğanlar Agriculture Company in Ankara, following a courtesy call paid by the company’s representatives at the Embassy of Sierra Leone in Ankara on 18 June 2026.
The visit formed part of the Embassy’s ongoing efforts to strengthen engagement with Turkish businesses and explore potential investment opportunities in Sierra Leone’s agricultural sector. During the visit, Ambassador Anderson was received by Mr. Tolga Doğan, General Manager of Doğanlar Agriculture Company, who provided a comprehensive overview of the company’s operations, agricultural production systems, modern farming techniques, and agribusiness activities.
Ambassador Anderson toured the company’s facilities and held discussions with management on opportunities for cooperation in commercial agriculture, agro-processing, livestock development, agricultural mechanization, and the transfer of agricultural technology and expertise. The discussions also focused on how Turkish agricultural experience and innovation could contribute to Sierra Leone’s efforts to modernize its agricultural sector and enhance food security.
Speaking during the visit, Ambassador Anderson highlighted Sierra Leone’s vast agricultural potential, noting the country’s abundant arable land, favorable climatic conditions, and the Government’s commitment to creating an enabling environment for private sector investment. She encouraged Doğanlar Agriculture Company to explore investment opportunities in Sierra Leone and reaffirmed the Embassy’s readiness to facilitate business partnerships and investment engagements.
General Manager of the company, Mr. Tolga Doğan expressed appreciation for the Ambassador’s visit and reiterated the company’s interest in learning more about opportunities within Sierra Leone’s agricultural sector. He noted that the engagement provided valuable insights into the country’s investment landscape and potential areas for mutually beneficial cooperation.
The site visit underscores the Embassy’s commitment to economic diplomacy and investment promotion, aimed at positioning Sierra Leone as an attractive destination for foreign direct investment. It also follows a series of engagements with Turkish companies seeking to explore opportunities in Sierra Leone’s priority sectors, particularly agriculture, which remains central to the country’s economic growth, job creation, and food security agenda.
