Koru Ankara Hospital Pays Courtesy Call On Sierra Leone Ambassador To Türkiye, Seeks Partnership In Medical Fellowship And Tourism

Chancery Building, Ankara, Türkiye, Tuesday 18 November 2025 –* Cross-section of the management of Koru Ankara Hospital has paid a courtesy visit on Sierra Leone’s Ambassador to Türkiye, Her Excellency Francess Virginia Anderson, PhD, and has extended willingness to partner with the country for Medical Fellowship and Tourism.



Koru Ankara Hospital is a leading private Health Group that was established in 2010, they have sophisticated capabilities in oncological treatment, neurosurgery, bone marrow transplant, robotic surgery, to name but some. They also offer services tailored for international patients: multilingual support, assistance with travel/accommodation, and airport transfer; and provide “medical second opinions” for international patients.



Speaking on behalf of the visiting team, Mr. Abbas Alparslan, Administrator for International Patient Relations, said that the Medical Fellowship would allow specialized medical training of a physician, dentist, veterinarian, and other health practitioners.


He further stated that it would allow doctors to gain advanced expertise in a particular sub-specialty of medicine, and for a deeper understanding of complex conditions and cutting-edge treatments within that area.

In the aspect of Medical Tourism, Mr. Abbas said the Türkiye's healthcare system is regulated by the Ministry of Health, which enforces rigorous licensing standards and quality control, where accredited hospitals adhere to international protocols for infection control, maintain sterile operating environments, minimal to no waiting times, comprehensive treatment packages, and the opportunity to combine medical care with a recovery vacation in a culturally rich and hospitable environment.


In a brief remark, Ambassador Francess Virginia Anderson, PhD, thanked members of the Koru Ankara Hospital, saying that Sierra Leone is ready to partner with their hospital in actualizing the Fellowship Program, and to boost medical tourism with Türkiye. Ambassador stressed on the need for urgent action to be taken for exchange of ideas in the medical field, while saying that she would engage the authorities in Sierra Leone for such exploration to be done within the shortest possible time.
