AMBASSADOR KAISAMBA HOLDS FRUITFUL DISCUSSIONS WITH THE AMBASSADOR OF THE TURKISH REPUBLIC OF NORTH CYPRUS, 4TH NOVEMBER, 2021

 

 

 

 

 

H.E. Ambassador Mohamed Hassan Kaisamba on Thursday 4th November 2021, held fruitful discussions with Ambassador Kemal Köprülü of the Turkish Republic of North Cyprus to strengthen the bilateral relationship between Sierra Leone and North Cyprus.

Receiving his counterpart from the Embassy of North Cyprus, the Sierra Leone Ambassador expressed his kind sentiment, citing that the gesture will strengthen the bilateral relations between the two countries. Ambassador Kaisamba continued that, he was delighted for the courtesy visit, especially for the presence of many Sierra Leoneans in North Cyprus.

He also presented issues ranging from Sierra Leonean students in the Turkish Republic of North Cyprus Universities, security, and their welfare. Education and Human Development Capital is the flagship programme of the Government of Sierra Leone he stressed.

In his remark, the Ambassador of North Cyprus stated that he was honoured to be at the Serra Leone Embassy. He informed his counterpart that both countries would develop in various forms if they work together as representatives of their countries. Their discussions also covered agents that pose a lot of problems for students intending to attend Universities in North Cyrus.

Ambassador Kemal Köprülü said it will be a pleasant opportunity to host the Sierra Leone Ambassador and team in the Turkish Republic of North Cyprus, as this will serve as an opportunity to meet and engage dignitaries at different levels. To solve subsequent problems on the agent issue, he proposed contacting the Universities and other related Government Officers with a view to solving these problems.

The North Cyprus Ambassador endorsed the proposal for his colleague and team to visit North Cyprus and have meetings with Sierra Leonean students and other appropriate Turkish Government Agents. After such a visit, proper plans and procedures will be mapped out for their proper stay in North Cyprus.

Both Ambassadors promised to work in a cordial relationship to scale- up the Diplomatic relations between the two countries.
