Ambassador Anderson Welcomes Second Batch of Turkish Investors to Sierra Leone For High-Level Government Engagements

Freetown, Sierra Leone, Wednesday 20 May 2026 — Sierra Leone’s Ambassador to Türkiye, Her Excellency Dr. Francess Virginia Anderson, has welcomed the second batch of Turkish investors facilitated through the efforts of the Sierra Leone Embassy in Türkiye, as they arrived in Sierra Leone for a series of high-level engagements with key government institutions.

The visit marks another important milestone in the growing economic and diplomatic relations between Sierra Leone and Türkiye, reflecting increasing investor confidence in Sierra Leone’s development potential and investment climate.

The investors’ visit follows the successful Investment and Trade Seminar hosted by the Sierra Leone Embassy in Türkiye in Istanbul last year, which sought to position Sierra Leone as a strategic destination for trade, investment, and economic partnerships. The Embassy noted that the initiative is now yielding tangible results through sustained investor interest and expanding bilateral engagements.

During their stay, the delegation held productive meetings with several senior government officials and institutions, including the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, officials of the National Early Warning and Response Mechanism Centre (NEWRMC), the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Health, the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Food Security, the Deputy Director General of the National Social Security and Insurance Trust (NASSIT), and the Right Honourable Speaker of the Parliament of Sierra Leone.

Ambassador Francess Virginia Anderson, PhD, described the engagements as fruitful and reaffirmed her commitment to deepening cooperation between Sierra Leone and international investors through strategic partnerships that support national development priorities.

Dr. Francess Virginia Anderson also expressed appreciation to the various Ministries, Departments and Agencies for their cooperation and warm reception, emphasizing its determination to ensure that these engagements translate into sustainable partnerships, long-term collaborations, and impactful development outcomes for the people of Sierra Leone.
