Ambassador Anderson Briefs Turkish Foreign Ministry on Successful Sierra Leone Investment Mission

Ankara, Türkiye, Tuesday 16 June 2026 – Following the successful visit of a Turkish investor delegation to Sierra Leone, Ambassador to Türkiye, H.E. Dr. Francess Virginia Anderson, met with officials of the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs to share the outcomes of the mission and discuss future cooperation.

Ambassador Anderson held discussions with Ambassador Senem Güzel of the Ministry’s Directorate General for Sub-Saharan Africa and Mr. Yunus Emre Öziğci, Head of Department, Deputy Directorate General for Western Africa. She highlighted the positive engagements between the Turkish delegation and key government and private sector stakeholders in Sierra Leone, as well as the growing interest in investment opportunities across sectors including agriculture, energy, mining, infrastructure, healthcare, and tourism.

The officials welcomed the update and commended the Sierra Leone Embassy’s efforts in promoting economic diplomacy and strengthening bilateral relations. Both sides discussed plans for future investor missions, business engagements, and initiatives aimed at expanding trade and investment cooperation between Sierra Leone and Türkiye.

The meeting reaffirmed the shared commitment of both countries to deepening economic ties and translating strong diplomatic relations into tangible development opportunities.
